On Thursday, Jan. 30 the Central High School District will once again host its annual district faculty variety show, “The Faculty Follies.”

This night of entertainment is one of the district’s major fundraising events for the district’s food bank, the Community Cupboard.

The evening will feature live performances by a wide range of teachers representing each of the six schools as well as central & building administration. Students from the district’s Ambassador Program will serve as the emcees for the show.

“The Follies has become a true highlight event of the school year. It is a wonderful example of teachers, administrators and students coming together in the spirit of One Voice, One Message.  The Student Ambassadors do tremendous work for our community; this night of entertainment is the staff’s way of helping to support their work,” said Cheryl Fontana, Director of the Fine & Performing Arts. “What started four years ago with about 20 participants, has now grown to over 50 faculty members involved – everything from live music to dancing and magic…the night has it all. The excitement and energy that fills the auditorium is amazing; and the fact that it’s all to raise money for the Community Cupboard makes it even more special.”

The show will be held at 7 p.m. in the Mepham High School auditorium.  Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults; they can be purchased in each school beginning Wednesday, Jan. 22 as well as at the door the night of the performance.
