Three students from Kennedy High School have been named National Merit Finalists in the 2020 competition.
David Frank, Madeline Jutsen and Mikaela Milch from all included on the list.

“It is always a proud moment when we get to celebrate the successes of our students,” said Superintendent John DeTommaso.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Approximately 15,000 students, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers, qualified as finalists.

The seniors are now competing for National Merit Scholarships that will be announced in March. The program awards three types of scholarships: National Merit $2,500 Scholarships, Corporate-Sponsored Merit Scholarships and College-Sponsored Merit Scholarships
