On Feb. 8, Robotics Clubs from both Merrick Avenue and Grand Avenue middle schools participated in their first tournament at Glen Cove High School.

They competed in coding and remote-control challenges with their custom built VEX robots. They also designed their own T-shirts and raised money for some of their equipment.

“It was an amazing experience and we will be back next year with plans to win top three and move on to the All-State competition,” said Michelle Biancardo, a technology teacher and club adviser.
