John F. Kennedy High School students recently joined the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center children for the celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2 by participating in the Read Across America event, sponsored by the National Education Association.

In addition to an abundance of reading activities, students received a visit from students in Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s child development class at Kennedy, who facilitated the making of the iconic red and white striped Dr. Seuss hats. The Reinhard students enjoyed the older students’ company, and the activity assisted in the younger students’ development of fine motor skills.
