Linda Jiang and Hugh Cheung of Kennedy High School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central School District placed fourth in the New York State Future Business Leaders of America competitions.

Their category, Banking and Financial Systems, required them to complete a 100-question test and later provide and present an impromptu solution to a case study to a panel of judges.

“This is an amazing accomplishment as, not only are they both freshmen and first-time competitors, they competed against high school students of all ages,” said Roseann Damato, the Future Business Leaders of America adviser.
This feat earned them a place at the national event in Anaheim, California. Additionally, Hugh placed fifth in the Introduction to Financial Math category.
