The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District Community Cupboard received a generous gift during the board of education meeting on Feb. 1. Members of the Bellmore Lions and Kiwanis clubs presented the cupboard with a $1,500 check.

Housed at Brookside School’s administrative building, the cupboard is a fully-stocked food pantry for local needy families.

“This has been a beautiful experience that has brought this community together,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri, who helped spearhead the project.
