Members of Franca Fiorentino’s Spanish 3H class at John F. Kennedy High School collaborated on a cross-curricular lesson with Michael DiGiovanni, an instructor with the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program.

Fiorentino’s class worked on a cultural unit that included learning about famous Spanish tapas, small plates of food usually served in Spain. Students visited the culinary arts room to prepare and enjoy challenging tapas recipes.

“It was great to see the students enjoying a meal they prepared,” Fiorentino said.

DiGiovanni will be visiting the Spanish class next week to discuss Spanish cuisine with the class.
