Norah Petrozak, the Merrick Avenue Middle School seventh-grader knows how to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – backwards!

It was this academic talent that earned her a spot on a team on “Genius Junior,” the TV game show that celebrates and challenges school-aged competitors.

The show taped during the summer 2017, but aired on April 8 on NBC. Petrozak called it an “amazing, but nerve-wracking experience.”

“Meeting the host, Neil Patrick Harris during the show was comforting,” she added. “He was very comical and made us feel less nervous.”

While science is her favorite subject in school, it was the area of spelling that she excelled at on the show. Although her team did not win, Petrozak said it was the experience of a lifetime.

Until her next big break, she will focus on tennis, piano, chorus and her studies – with science being her favorite subject.
