Mepham High School boys soccer team, which were named the Nassau County champions, were invited to the New York City Football Club’s home opening on March 10 at Yankee Stadium, where they were honored along with other regional champions during a halftime ceremony.

“The boys got a behind the scenes opportunity to walk on to the historic field at Yankee Stadium along with the other high school champions from the area during halftime,” explained coach Zachary Gosse, who is also a teacher at the district’s Meadowbrook Alternative Program. “This was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and a great way to celebrate the school's first ever boys soccer county championship.”
