The Bellmore Chamber of Commerce honored Mepham science teacher Josephine Parlagreco with The Zagarino Outstanding Community Member of the Year award on Jan. 25.
Parlagreco was supported by her family, as well as board trustee Nina Lanci, and teachers Ellen Hsi and Heather Bizewski who attended the event.
“This is such an incredibly well-deserved honor for her work in our district including the Community Cupboard and the community as a whole,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri.
