Sabrina Iraggi, a senior at Mepham High School, was recently recognized for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Iraggi volunteers at The Book Fairies, a not-for-profit organization that collects and distributes books for children in various underserved communities in New York City and Long Island. She began volunteering for this organization during the summer of 2019 and continues to do so once or twice a month.
She assists with sorting materials and organizing pick-ups and donations, in addition to helping train new volunteers.
The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amount of their time to serve their communities, was granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program.
