The Community Cupboard, the food pantry run by the Central High School District, is still operational while schools are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We want to continue to spread the word that we are here for them and also to the community that we are collecting donations,” explained Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri.
There is a container Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for donations at the Brookside building, located at 1260 Meadowbrook Road in Merrick. District staffers Karin McMahon, Catrina Christensen and Darlene Boden are among the volunteers spearheading this effort.
Families in need can visit the district website at www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/
or call 516-992-1073 for more information.
