Students from the Central High School District’s Meadowbrook Alternative Program and PREP Academy joined together on the Brookside field Oct. 8 to create a pink ribbon fence decoration to raise breast cancer awareness.

Organized by MAP school counselor/Key Club advisor Catrina Christensen, this idea was discussed at the club’s first meeting.

“In addition to the fence ribbons, we will be selling ribbons as a fundraiser throughout Brookside,” Christensen explained. “They will later decide on an organization to donate the funds.”

It was also meant to bring the two groups that are both housed at Brookside as well.
“The MAP students wanted to include the PREP Academy students since they are new to the building and they thought it would nice to work together,” added Christensen.
