It may have been a dreary weather week, but it was a bright and spirited throughout the halls of schools in the Central High School District.

“Costumes and plenty of cozy pajamas wrapped up our final days of our S.A.D.D. club Red Ribbon week,” said Merrick Avenue Middle School Principal Katelyn Dunn.

At MAMS, the Art Club also had decorated pumpkins on display.

“From pajama day to Halloween costume day, students and staff embraced the essence of each day to promote Mepham pride,” said Mepham Principal Eric Gomez.

Students at Kennedy High School enjoyed themed days such as Pajama Day, Tropical Day, Jersey Day and Costume Day.

“It was great to see students and staff getting a chance to enjoy one of our Kennedy traditions,” said Principal Gerard Owenburg.

At Calhoun High School, Costumes for a Cause fundraiser benefited the Music Never Stops: the Tyler Seaman Foundation.

“This organization supports music therapy programs for teens and young adults who are battling illness and going through treatments in hospitals,” explained Principal Nicole Hollings. “Tyler is an alumnus of Calhoun who lost his battle with chordoma ten years ago.”

A Costumes for a Cause fundraiser was also held at Grand Avenue Middle School.

“What a really cool display of spirit and creativity. The students, faculty and staff were all able to participate in the fun,” said Principal Carlo Conte. “It was such a great day while we raised money for the Grand Avenue S.A.D.D. Club.”
