Mepham High School ninth grader, Yianna Foufas, and Mepham art teacher, Lisa Federici, have something in common besides their Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District connection. The two have their artwork displayed in this year’s New York State Art Teachers Association Art Show, “Kindred Spirits.”
The theme for this year’s show is anatomy, and Foufas selected chalk pastel as her medium of choice, while Ms. Federici worked with mixed media.
"Kindred Spirits" is an outstanding exhibition of work created by Nassau and Suffolk counties current and retired art educators and their current or former students.
Their work, along with others, is on display at The Firefly Artists, 162 Main St. in Northport.
