Victoria O’Shea, an 11th grader at Mepham High School, was announced as one of the female nominees for a Roger Rees Award for Excellence in Student Performance after her rendition of “Promise Me This” in the Mepham Skull and Bones production of “The Theory of Relativity.”

“Victoria is the type of student that every teacher dreams of seeing on their roster in September,” said English teacher/Skull and Bones adviser Edward Grosskreuz. “Not only does she balance her workload of rigorous courses, Victoria also gives much of her time in the evening to her studies in dance. Music and the arts run strong in the O'Shea family, and Victoria certainly is no exception. She brings a level of maturity and professionalism to the stage, and Skull and Bones is proud to have her as a member.”

The Jimmy Awards, also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, are currently the only student award in the New York metro area that recognizes distinction in student performance and outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre programs.

O’Shea is among 24 other female performers vying for Best Actress. The national showcase will be presented online on July 15, 2021.
