Following their impressive Long Island Championship win, the Mepham High School softball team was honored by district administration and the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School Board of Education on July 13. The team received plaques of recognition and were met with a round of applause from audience members thanks to their impressive defeat over Miller Place.
Superintendent Michael Harrington spoke of the resilience that the students showed after missing their 2019-2020 season due to the pandemic, and how impressive their eventual comeback was for the 2020-2021 season. Congratulations once again to all team members!
