Courtney Lange, a senior at Calhoun High School's Advanced Science Research program, was invited to present at the 2017 NYU Health Disparities Symposium, held on Oct. 12 at New York University.

Lange was the only high school student invited. She assisted with the construction of the poster board and she presented her summer research titled “Designing an online intervention to promote awareness about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) among blacks: The Tailored Approach to Sleep Health Education (TASHE) study.”

Lange’s presentation received the Top Student Paper Award and her research is currently being submitted for publication.

The symposium program included a series of short, engaging talks on current health disparities research and programs.
