The Bellmore-Merrick boys bowling team won the Nassau County Championships at AMF Garden City Lanes on Feb 2.

The team is coached by Joseph Bianca, who is also a special education teacher at Sanford H. Calhoun High School.

“We had a strong core group of five boys who bowled 24 games over the season,” he said. “But senior leadership was a key for the title.”

Lead by three-time All-County bowler Sam Farber, two-time All-County bowler Nick Breidenback and one-time All-County bowler Donovan Moran, the team also saw strong performances by junior James Petter and freshman Brendan Moran.

They move on to compete at the New York State championships on March 7-8.
