The Kennedy High School Girls 4 X 800-meter relay team nabbed the Nassau County Championship during their meet on Feb. 7, earning the school its first title in nearly 15 years.

The relay team includes junior Jillian Conlon, sophomore Alicia Prainito, freshman Maya Spottiswood and Merrick Avenue Middle School eighth-grader Marissa Spottiswood.

Maya also earned All-County status in the 1,500-meter by placing third a mere 40 minutes before her championship relay.

“With no seniors, these four girls will only be getting faster over the next few seasons,” said Chris Mammone, who is head coach. Barbara Green is the assistant coach.
