Grand Avenue Middle School physical education classes recently completed a jump-rope-a-thon raising $6,426.50 for the American Heart Association.
The Jump Rope for Heart program is a two-week unit in physical education class in which students participate in a variety of jumping activities.
During this time students volunteer to collect money from friends and family.
“Students learn the lifelong benefits of cardiovascular exercise and how it leads to a healthy heart,” said Donna Greco, a physical education teacher.
Project coordinators George Bossert, Donna Greco and Carrie Perkins would like to thank the students and community for their tremendous support.
Top fundraisers were Ian Peckman, Riley Peckman, Lena Roseman, Jared Levine, Nick Salas, Ted Piccininni, Massimo Marino, Lauren Duany, Casey Cascio, Hannah Broxmeyer, Max Hahn, Skylar Ward and Jonathan Kokura.
