The district was proudly represented by Calhoun High School sophomores Ryan Friedman and Anthony Khaimov at USA Hockey’s Select Under-15 Development Camp in Amherst, N.Y. from July 14-20.

The development camp offered six days of age-appropriate on- and off-ice training, coaching from elite-level instructors and the opportunity for players to compete against their peers from across the country. The camp was designed so players could return home with the tools to further develop their skills over the course of the coming season and beyond. Since 1977, USA Hockey’s National Player Development Camps have been a springboard for countless future Olympians and professional players.

Ryan and Anthony qualified for the development camp by attending two highly competitive tryouts with the best players in New York. Ryan, a forward, competed on team Black that finished eighth, and Anthony, a defenseman, played on the fifth ranked team Kelly during the week-long camp. Each had a fantastic time and were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in a camp where many top National Hockey League players have competed in the past.

The district is very proud of Ryan and Anthony for their accomplishments and look forward to their contributions to the varsity hockey team for the upcoming winter season.
