Bellmore-Merrick welcomed students back to school on Sept. 6.

“A lot of work goes into opening our schools,” explained Superintendent John DeTomsaso. “All of the departments and staff worked together to make it happen.”

At Mepham High School, “students eagerly attended their classes and learned more about their teachers and course expectations,” Principal Eric Gomez said.

At Grand Avenue, as the students were passing to each class, Principal Carlo Conte said he saw connections being made.

“As I visited many classrooms today, my excitement for the start of a new year was coming alive in front of my eyes,” he added.
