Seven Receive Students Building Bridges Award

Several students in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District designated a recipient of the Students Building Bridges Award by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island (JCRC).

On May 5, sophomores Nickolaus Mascaryof Sanford H. Calhoun High School, Sahara Partap, Morgan Schaefer and Allison Alvarez of Wellington C. Mepham High School and Nicole Giordano, Rachel Oppenheim and Beverly Kleinman of John F. Kennedy High School were recognized at Nassau County’s Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) program hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island.

They received citations from an elected official and a certificate from JCRC and were publicly honored for their efforts in building bridges across communities and creating a more civil society.
