More than 350 community members came out May 21 to participate in the Central High School District’s first Color Run.

Organized by social studies chairperson Robyn Einbinder, the event is a progression from the usual One Voice, One Message 5K Run.

“The student ambassadors have been asking for one for years,” she explained. “So, we made it happen.”

Student ambassadors were on hand for participant registration, color packet purchases and, most importantly, to toss the powdered color at runners. CHAMP students also volunteered at a food service tent.

“This was definitely a districtwide effort, as far as administrative volunteers as well,” Einbinder added.

Proceeds from the event benefitted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
