On May 6, the Bellmore-Merrick’s Kennedy High School community honored former Principal Lorraine Poppe (1995-2018) with a dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting event for theLorraine Poppe Pavilionin the courtyard.
Her 23 year tenure as principal made her the longest serving principal in the history of Kennedy High School.
“We hope that the pavilion serves as a reminder of Ms. Poppe’s love for the entire Kennedy school community,” said Principal Gerard Owenburg. “The pavilion is one of several beautification projects that have helped our courtyard become the main hub for students to gather outdoors on our campus.”
