MAMS Hosts Successful Challenge Day

On June 2, Merrick Avenue hosted some incoming seventh-grade students for their 14th annual Merrick Challenge Day.
“Our seventh and eighth grade students teamed up with the elementary students to take part in various activities, including a baton relay, badminton racket race, bean bag toss, spike ball, and an all-out dancing competition,” explained Principal Katelyn Dunn.
Grand Avenue's Inclusivity Club and Natural Helpers also paired up to help in the day's events.
Special education teacher Lauren Beinert led the organization, along with the MAMS physical education department, Dan Stiglitz, and the rest of the special education department.
