Mepham’s ASR Symposium Highlights Science Research

The 2025 Mepham Advanced Science Research Symposium was held in mid-May. Dr. Julia Tollin, the guest speaker, shared her experiences with science research as she pursued her degree in medicine, focusing on general anesthesiology. Junior Gulshan Singh was presented the Bausch + Lomb award, which recognizes his outstanding achievement and superior intellectual promise in the field of science. Junior Salvatore LoBrutto, Jr. was presented with the Rensselaer Medal. Medalists are guaranteed $40,000 per year merit scholarships if they apply, are accepted and choose to enroll at Rensselaer.
The following students were also honored for their success in the Long Island Science Congress: Ryan Radicone - Achievement, Alexis Skreckoski - Achievement, Julia Corcoran - Honorable Mention, Jocelyn Roth - Honorable Mention, Salvatore LoBrutto Jr. - Meritorious. Additionally, Gulshan Singh has been invited to the LISC awards ceremony, where he will be receiving one of the highest honors. The night concluded with 23 seniors being presented with their ASR medals and sharing their research studies with attendees.
It truly was an exceptional night that would not have been possible without the hard work of ASR teachers, Ms. Partap, Ms. Spargifiore and Dr. Kommor, along with Science Chair, Ms. Bizewski.
