Founded in September 2006, the Meadowbrook Alternative Program welcomes students enrolled in grades 9-12 who have been identified as at-risk, and who are not quite achieving at the level required in the traditional school setting. Since our inception, the MAP program has graduated over 200 students.

Our mission: MAP students succeed through their engagement in a rigorous academic program consisting of personalized classroom, experiential and service learning experiences delivered in the context of a nurturing and challenging learning community. Classes are small, enabling or students to receive more individualized instruction.

The Bellmore-Merrick Twilight Program provides an alternative setting in the late afternoon for students who have not succeeded in the traditional high school setting. We provide students with the necessary tools to complete their high school requirements, while helping them prepare for post-secondary education or employment. We offer two different tracks; pursuing credits towards completing the NYS Regents high school diploma, or working towards a High School Equivalency (HSE) degree, by sitting for the TASC exam.

Prep Academy is an educational and vocational program for students with developmental disabilities ages 18-21. Prep Academy expands upon the experience that students received in the Prep for the Future Program while attending high school at Calhoun. Students at Prep Academy finish their high school requirements for graduation culminating in a high school diploma. They also have the opportunity to be involved in work internships for more than half the day to build stamina to work in the community after exit. The program also collaborates with several OPWDD-supported adult agencies to engage in joint social and vocational experiences to prepare our students for adult life after high school.
