The Yorker Club went on their annual Wickham Farm field trip Monday, October 2. Student members took a wagon ride to pick apples, pumpkins, toured the apple cider press and green houses while learning about the history of one of the oldest farms on the island. The 12th generation Wickham family farm has been part of the island landscape since the 1600's. This Colonial Era farm provides the students a unique perspective of the culture, landscape and agriculture of the east end of Long Island. Proprietor Tom Wickham is pictured telling the students about the rich history of Wickham and the important contributions it has made to our local history.
