For the 2022-23 school year, the Central High School District had 583 students recognized by theAPScholarsprogram.

Of those, 277 were namedAPScholars, 121 were namedAPScholarswith Honor and 182 received the highest honor ofAPScholar with Distinction for having earned an average score of 3.5 (tests are scored on a 1-5 scale) on five or moreAPexams.

TheAPScholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level success onAPExams. Thescholarsprogramrecognizes three levels of achievement.

APScholarawards are granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or moreAPExams.

APScholar with Honorawards are granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on allAPExams taken,andscores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

And,APScholar with DistinctionAwards are granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on allAPExams taken,andscores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

As a participant in the APCapstone program, the district also had 72 named Capstone StoneScholarswith 41 students earning the high honor of anAPCapstone Diploma and 31 earning anAPCapstone Seminar and Research Certificate

“We congratulate all of the students, families and faculty involved with the incredible level of academic achievement behind all of the above,” expressed Scott Bersin, assistant superintendent, curriculum and instruction.
