On Nov. 16, volunteers from across the district packaged nearly 175 Thanksgiving baskets for families who utilize the Dr. Mara Bolletieri Community Cupboard.
Led by Karin McMahon of Mepham and the Community Cupboard, Mark Melkonian of Calhoun and Eric Arlin of the Meadowbrook Alternative/PREP Programs, students created assembly lines of organization and packaging.
Grand Avenue collected close to 20 copy paper boxes full of donations.
Members of the student government from Kennedy joined as well, after raising more than $4,000 and embarking on a shopping trip for needed supplies.
