The Central High School District was once again named a Best Community for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.
The CHSD was selected - along with 1,000 others across the nation - for their role in supporting music as part of a well-rounded education. Cheryl Fontana, the director of fine & performing arts, said the district is “extremely grateful for this distinction.”
“Recognition like this is not possible without our incredible music teachers; they are the heart and soul of our program and provide our students with a truly rich musical experience during their time in the CHSD,” added Fontana.
Fontana also thanked music teachers in the four component elementary districts who “lay the foundation for our future musicians.”
“None of what we do at the secondary level would be possible without their dedication,” she added.
This award program recognizes schools that demonstrate a commitment to ensuring music learning opportunities are available for every student and provide an example for other communities to follow.
