CHSD Invites Community to 16th Annual Chop Your Locks for Charity Event

Participation in Government students at Mepham High School will host the 16th annual Chop Your Locks for Charity event on behalf of the Central High School District. on Wednesday, March 18, from 6-8 p.m. in the South Gym.
This evening brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research for childhood cancer. Participants raise funds by shaving their heads in solidarity with children battling cancer, donating 10 or more inches of hair, and collecting pledges to support lifesaving research.
Since first partnering with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in 2008, the Mepham community has raised more than $700,000 to help advance cures and less harmful treatments for childhood cancer - a testament to the school’s longstanding commitment to service and compassion.
“Our Chop Your Locks for Charity event is more than a fundraiser - it’s a powerful demonstration of empathy, leadership, and community spirit,” said Kerry Dennis, one of the event organizers and social studies teacher.
“Each year, our students step up to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families facing unimaginable challenges,” added Chris Patten, another event organizers and social studies teacher.
