Representatives Bring Student Perspectives to Board of Education

Student representatives from the four high schools in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District represented their school communities at the Oct. 7 Board of Education meeting.
During the meeting, the student representatives shared updates from their respective schools, highlighted student accomplishments and activities, and offered personal insights into the experiences and achievements of their fellow students. Their reports provided Board members and community members with a firsthand perspective on what is happening across the district’s secondary schools.
The student representatives will continue serving as liaisons to the Board of Education throughout the 2026-27 school year. They will attend monthly Board meetings and report from the dais, helping keep the Board and community informed and connected to the accomplishments, activities and experiences of students across the district.
The 2026-27 student representatives are:
- Mepham High School: Andrew Adams
- Calhoun High School: Leah Forie
- Kennedy High School: Alexis Giordano
- Brookside Building/MAP: Juliet Harvey
“The district looks forward to hearing from these student leaders throughout the school year as they share the voices, accomplishments and stories of their school communities,” noted Superintendent Michael Harrington.
