Student Innovation on Display with VE Presentations

At the Jan. 7 board of education meeting, two of the CHSD’s Virtual Enterprise (VE) classes showcased their creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Led by teachers Laura Rojas, Morgan Stewart and Linda Pusateri, Kennedy’s VE business is developing Smart Shades - innovative transitional lenses that electronically slide to switch between regular glasses, blue light protection, and sunglasses.
Led by Jenna Tumminelli, Calhoun’s VE team is behind Sunbeat Cooler, a high-end, solar-powered, self-refrigerated cooler complete with built-in speakers.
Virtual Enterprise is a course that immerses students in a simulated business environment where they experience every aspect of running a company - from human resources and accounting to production, marketing, sales, and distribution - helping them understand how teams and departments work together for success.
