Mepham Senior Johnny Macko Earns All-America Swimming Honors

Mepham High School senior Johnny Macko has been named to the All America Interscholastic Swimming Team by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA), earning national recognition for his outstanding achievements in the pool.
The All-America distinction is awarded to the 100 fastest athletes in each event whose submitted times are accepted by the association.
Macko earned two state championship titles earlier this year at the NYSPHSAA Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Championships, held March 8 at Ithaca College. He captured first place in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, establishing himself among New York State’s top high school swimmers.
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Macko is the salutatorian of the Class of 2027. He plans to continue his academic and swimming careers at Brown University.
