Five Bellmore-Merrick Educators Honored by Harvard Club of LI

Five educators from Bellmore-Merrick have been recognized by the Harvard Club of Long Island.
Each year, current students at Harvard University nominate the middle and high school teachers who made a lasting impact on their lives - educators who inspired curiosity, set high expectations, and shared a genuine love of learning.
This year, five district teachers received this special recognition: Walter Avellaneda of Kennedy High School and Anthony Brandofino, Dr. David Kommor, Madeline LoMonaco and Neeru Partap, all of Mepham High School
Honorees Madeline LoMonaco and Neeru Partap will be celebrated at the University Relations Luncheon on March 15, while Walter Avellaneda, Anthony Brandofino, and Dr. David Kommor received commendation letters recognizing their meaningful impact on students.
“Thank you for the passion, dedication, and inspiration you bring to the classroom every day,” noted Superintendent Michael Harrington. “The entire district is proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.”
