MERRICK AVENUE MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS

At Merrick Avenue Middle School, our athletic program offers a wide variety of intramural and interscholastic opportunities for the entire student body.  Our intramural program runs primarily during the winter months, and it is open to all students. Intramural sports offerings vary from year to year and are announced during homeroom, in physical education classes, and through the principal’s weekly email to parents.

The interscholastic athletic program is comprised of four athletic seasons, and the following sports are offered:

  • Baseball
  • Softball

 

Students who participate in interscholastic athletics may be required to tryout, and they should expect to practice five days a week after school, typically from 3-5.  Athletic contests will be held at Merrick Avenue, Brookside, other middle schools, and state parks throughout Nassau County.  Please familiarize yourself with our site and the information related to scheduling, game sites, and athletic procedures.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
