  • The primary purpose of Social Studies is to help people make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world. The Social Studies Department of Calhoun High School is made up of a group of dynamic educators who provide all students with access to a strong foundation of historical knowledge, and who teach them to think critically, engage in civil discourse, employ analysis, collaborate, and understand multiple perspectives. These skills will allow students to become more engaged citizens.

  • Speech/Language remediation is available to any student having a communication disorder that interferes with his performance in an academic setting. Once identified with a communication disorder by the speech teacher, remediation is scheduled whenever possible into a student's program of studies during the school day.
