Students from Heather Cordeira’s art classes at Merrick Avenue Middle School created greeting cards for the residents at the BelAir Nursing Home in North Bellmore.

“Shortly after we started remote learning, I reached out to BelAir,” Cordeira explained. “I know that there would be no visitors and told the students that with the holidays coming, it would be nice to send some words of hope and positivity.”

A student in her 15:1 program informed Corderia he has a grandmother at the facility, so this assignment “was extra special for him.”

“This is such a thoughtful way for our students to show their support, kindness and care,” said Principal Katelyn Dunn.
