The spirit of giving is alive and well at Grand Avenue Middle School last week as the Student Council sorted items collected during a toy drive for a local charity.
Grand Avenue's Makayla Daube visited the John Theissen's Children's Foundation in Wantagh recently and noticed they were in the need of donations.
“Makayla, her fellow Student Council members, and Grand Avenue students were able to collect more than 100 toys,” explained Assistant Principal Christopher Riccardi. “All toys will be donated to sick and underprivileged kids right here on Long Island.”
