Grand Avenue Middle School Art Club students had an enlightening experience painting at ArtSea, a private art studio in Babylon where they created beautiful acrylic paintings on canvas.
Nicholas Giordano and Barbara Hirten, co-advisers of the Art Club, accompanied the students on their art adventure. The studio’s instructor, kept the them engaged and excited to learn new skills throughout the workshop. The students discovered the challenges and pleasures of painting as they produced a finished piece of art to take home.
"I was amazed at the quality of the work," said Giordano. "Most of the kids had never painted before, yet they incorporated what they learned about composition, color and value in class with what they learned in the studio. I am very proud of what these young artists achieved."
