Students from Sanford H. Calhoun, John F. Kennedy, and Wellington C. Mepham High School’s Leadership classes traveled together to Project CARE (Challenge Activities Rope Experience) on Oct. 24-25.

Project CARE is a non-traditional, experiential approach to building individual and team growth. The program has been designed to help children and adolescents develop self-esteem, confidence and trust in one’s self and others.

These ambassadors are from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s “One Voice, One Message,” a district wide, student-led think tank. Created in March of 2014, student ambassadors from the district’s four high schools and two middle schools join together throughout the school year to address issues impacting the student body and surrounding community.
