During the Nov. 2 meeting, students, staff and administrators showed their love for the Central High School Board of Education.
From hand-drawn adult coloring books made by Calhoun’s Prep students to artwork from each of the district’s six buildings to a funky a capella performance by Merrick Avenue Middle School’s group, Word of Mouth, the evening was all about praise, pomp and circumstance.
“I don’t think there is anyone who represents the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District better than this board,” said Superintendent John DeTommaso. “It consistently works at making this great district even better. They narrow and focus their commitment on what is best for the kids.”
Board President Janet Goller called the board-district’s relationship a “true partnership.”
“We accomplish such great things together,” Goller added after thanking the evening’s participants.
