A team comprised of advanced science research students from Kennedy High School earned a second place prize at this year’s Northwell Health SPARK Challenge.

The teams that participated by shadowing professionals in different departments of the Health System last fall, competed with career presentations they designed to represent the departments they shadowed.

Teams from the culinary program, the virtual enterprise program and the Advanced Science Research (ASR) program presented at the Northwell SPARK event held in the Cradle of Aviation museum.

Kennedy’s ASR team won second place with their career advertisement poster presentation, representing vocational counselors and professionals at Northwell Health.

Their prize includes a $4,500 award to be used for a field trip chosen by the 10-member student team and their teacher.

Congratulations to Team “Vocation Nation,” which is comprised of Jennifer Rhakimov, Julia Abrams. Nicole Khouryawad, Oliva Mark, Christopher Ham, Lucas Rosen, Nina Weissbach, Amanda Schleider, Chloe Rome and Brian Zharov.  They were lead by team advisor Barbi Frank.
