Several members of the Kennedy High School Alumni Association visited the school’s Advanced Science Research room to observe the nearly $15,000 of equipment they purchased for the program.

“These donations to the Science Research and STEM programs have allowed for the purchase of cutting-edge media tools and technological equipment that will empower our students in the fields of advanced science research, engineering, design, robotics and computer science,” said Robert Soel, a science chairperson.

Items included an Afinia H800+ 3D printer, an HP DesignJet poster printer and plotter, an HP multifunction color laser printer, Apple TV and two large screen Samsung Smart TVs, two HP laptop computers, and a custom package of VEX V5 robotics kits for competition and classroom use.

“Gifts like these allows us to preserve the past while connecting with the present,” said Alumni Association President Dr. Gary Morganstern of the Class of 1973.

“Support from our alumni is essential in developing the most dynamic and successful learning community,” added Soel. “This donation coupled with the ongoing connections we foster between our current students and alumni in STEM professions is a testament to their support of the next generation of scientists, engineers, and clinicians.”
