Marcello Blanco’s Introduction to Music students at Grand Avenue Middle School had the opportunity to meet with a professional musician last week.
Trumpet player Damien Pacheco went through the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District several years ago as a student. He was named All-County and All-State and is now a professional musician on Long Island.
“He recently gave a master class at Grand Avenue, where students heard him perform, participated in call and response activities, and answered questions,” explained Blanco. “He made a real connection during his visit and the students benefitted from this interactive and engaging experience.”
