Hailey Guerrero, a Wellington C. Mepham High School senior, was named to the All-State Team recently.
This honor is voted by Basketball Coaches in New York State. Guerrero was one of 14 players in all of Nassau County. This award includes public, private and catholic schools. She was also the Conference Player of the Year in Nassau A1 and named All County for the second year in row.
A team captain, Guerrero led the Lady Pirates to a 16-3 record this past season in Nassau County girls basketball. She averaged 21 points per game and had five rebounds this season.
Guerrero will be playing softball next year for Stony Brook University.
“She is an amazing athlete and an even better teammate,” said Coach Jim Mulvey.
