Calhoun Girls Volleyball Named LI Champs

The Calhoun High School girls volleyball team won the Long Island championship on Nov. 11, clinching their first Class A championship in the school’s history.

The Colts beat previously undefeated Sayville High School in three sets, 25-21, 26-24, and 25-19.

The team now heads to states, which are scheduled for Nov. 19-20 at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.

The team is coached by Christina Strezenec.

The boys volleyball team defeated Roslyn High School on Nov. 8 to clinch the Nassau County championship. They lost to Hauppauge High School in four sets on Nov. 10 in the division II Long Island championship.

The team is coached by Ryan Pastuch.
